Charlene J. Stainfield is a Ph.D. candidate at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio studying American politics and survey methodology. Her dissertation examines the causal effect of negative elite rhetoric about public opinion polls on individual distrust in polling and future propensity to participate in polls, which speaks to the opinion leadership literature in public opinion scholarship. Broadly, she is interested in (mis)perceptions of democracy, adherence to democratic norms, misinformation interventions, as well as any and all things survey research related.
Charlene received her B.A. in Political Science with a focus in American Politics and minor in Creative Writing from the University of North Florida (UNF) in 2017. After graduating, she held the position of Senior Research Associate at the Public Opinion Research Lab (PORL) at UNF. She currently holds an M.A. from the Ohio State University. |
